A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words

Dragonfly

You can look at a forest as a trillion sundry romances: seedlings, saplings, old growth trees. Mycelium, mushroom blooms, birds, coyotes, butterflies and bees.. Tragedies and comedies, polyamorous and monogamous kisses, entangling webs, fabrics of interwoven film stills. Is it cellular and celluloid? Every second makes up a trillion narratives of life, connection, detachment, and death oscillating across membranes.

“Dragonfly vision creates a high-frame-rate, near-360-degree, mosaic-like image of the world, allowing them to perceive ultraviolet and polarized light invisible to humans. Dragonflies  see in "slow motion," and have incredibly fast reaction times. Their vision is like a blurry, wide-angle panoramic view, but with a much richer and more detailed experience of light and color.”

When you loosen the threads of the storyline that you torturously repeat to yourself, what is left without narrative? Sensations, thoughts, energy, emotions.  Memories repeat like film stills, speeding up  and slowing down. Movement and character are freed from beginning, middle, and end. Memory, experience, and sensation are one.
